On Friday

On Friday we sit with coffee.

We stare into the fog and listen to birds through a slightly open window while holding space for the sun to burn through the remnants of last night’s dreams.

In between sips we have spiritual negotiations with the ram about our “flow” and equilibrium and how we cannot breathe fire and need salt water to survive. He snorts at us, amused.

We remember how we have never been fans of speed or high octane, but that we can swim against the current. Steady as she goes… they say on the sea.

To be water is for the long game. It seeks the cracks in the soil and in the heart. It nourishes what is parched and is the magical elixir of roots and souls in need. We can swim but also float.

And in this season of gorgeous chaos, joy and burning passion, we are a reminder to take a moment, rest, and move through all of it at the pace of your own spirit.
